The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing diecasting equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with the production team to support continuous operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular preventive maintenance on diecasting machinery and equipment to ensure smooth operation.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in diecasting equipment.
- Inspections: Conduct regular inspections of equipment to identify potential problems and address them proactively.
- Repairs: Execute repairs promptly to minimize production downtime. Replace defective or worn-out parts as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures. Ensure a safe working environment by following safety regulations and conducting safety audits.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the production team to ensure equipment is ready and properly maintained for production runs.
- Inventory Management: Manage inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies. Order parts as necessary to ensure availability.
- Continuous Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Training: Provide training and support to junior maintenance staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Technician or higher; Associate degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a maintenance role within the diecasting or automotive parts industry.
- Skills: Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills. Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Knowledge: In-depth understanding of diecasting machinery, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
- Communication: Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
